A$29.00

Ever wondered what it would be like to be up close and personal with a constipated shark? Thought about keeping a great white as a pet? Or fantasized about naming a deadly animal after your ex?

Richard "Shark Tracker" Fitzpatrick, who wrangles sharks and other deadly marine creatures for a living, has done it all.

From the Great Barrier Reef to the murky depths of the Amazon. Richard Fitzpatrick Shark Tracker shares his real-life experiences with creatures of the deep. From tagging sharks to witnessing sea horses giving birth. A mixture of mind-boggling stories and science provides an intimate insight into marine life and the conservation issues at stake.

About the Author

Richard has shot more than 50 films for clients such as the BBC, National Geographic and Discovery Channel and is renowned for filming complex behavioral sequences. These include high speed, time-lapse, motion control, and underwater – many never seen before. Richard has shot many presenter-led programs. Able to switch quickly between topside and underwater filming and with a huge collection of ‘toys’, he brings high production value on fast-paced shoots.

Extreme environments are no problem for Richard. Richard has filmed all over the world, from the deserts of outback Australia to the jungles of the Amazon to snow-covered Alaska. In over 15,000 hours underwater he has filmed in the crystal clear coral gardens of the Great Barrier Reef, the murky waters of the Amazon, and everything in-between. In the process, Richard has won numerous international awards. Richard started out as a marine biologist and has worked in public aquariums around the world, including:

  • Oceanworld, Manly Australia

  • Maui Ocean Centre, Hawaii

  • Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority’s Reef HQ Aquarium in Townsville

This gives him a unique perspective on the animals he films and an instinct for capturing the perfect shot.
